We just launched our brand new Yellowstone Wolf & Snowshoe Vacation (sold out in 2021!). On this trip, we will explore the park with wolf biologist, Jon Trapp, in search of the infamous wolves of Yellowstone and learn about their biology, behavior, and complicated history.
We recently hosted a webinar where our head of tour operations, Kris Keys, chatted with Jon about his background, the wolves of Yellowstone, and what to expect on our upcoming tour. Check it out!
Jon Trapp served overseas as an Air Force intelligence officer, worked as a wolf biologist across the West, and is currently a national wildland fire manager. His experience with wolves ranges from Arizona and New Mexico with the Mexican Gray Wolf reintroduction program to Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. He has an undergraduate degree from NAU and a Masters degree in Conservation Biology.
Jon taught wolf ecology and management courses at the Yellowstone Institute for 15 years. He is the Assistant Fire Chief at Red Lodge Fire Rescue and is on two national fire incident management teams as a Fire Behavior Analyst. His experiences have brought about a unique perspective on wildlife, landscape ecology, and the impacts of climate change.
Though this year’s trip is sold out, we are planning on offering it again next year! Contact us if you’d like to be notified when we scheduled our next tour.
